Obligated to investigate, the crew, including warrant officer Ellen Ripley (played by Sigourney Weaver), Captain Dallas (portrayed by Tom Skerritt), Executive Officer Kane (played by John Hurt), Science Officer Ash (portrayed by Ian Holm), and others, lands on the planetoid against Ripley’s advice.
